Troubleshooting
MTPro has been tested extensively against a wide
range of computer configurations / Firewalls / antivirus software, and,
so far has has always been able to connect to the API under all conditions
where connection to the Betfair website is possible.
Of course, we can't test for everything, and it's always possible that there is something unique about your set-up which means that MTPro can't connect, in which case just let us know at support@chromaweb.com and we'll do our best to come up with a solution.
However, if you do encounter problems, they are most likely to be down to permissioning issues or general internet connectivity problems and to show up at the Log-on stage.
The most common problem is incorrectly inputting usernames or password:
Remember, you input you Betfair Username and Password, and they are case-sensitive.
Your Username and Password are transmitted to Betfair`s server via https, the secure internet protocol, in the same way that they are via the Betfair website. MTPro does not communicate with us or with any party or entity other than Betfair`s server.
If for some reason your Log-in fails you will see a pop-up explaining the reason:

The next most common reason for Log-in failures (apart from failed Internet connections or Betfair downtimes) is that an account has not yet been permissioned to use MTPro.
If this is the case the pop-up will read:" LOGIN_UNAUTHORIZED User has not been permissioned to use API login.", in which case, if you haven't already done so you should go to: http://www.chromaweb.com/bets/login/ and upload the Betfair Username of the Betfair account you intend to use MTPro on.
The permissioning process is completed by us manually via a form on Betfair's website, so there may be some delay, but the delay should be a maximum of 12 hours, usually much less.
Another possible cause of Log-in problems is a failed Internet connection or a break in service at Betfair, in which case you will get:

and you should do as the the pop-up suggests and try logging on to Betfair at http://www.betfair.com/.
Very occasionally the Betfair API is down, even though the Website is working normally.
If this was a 'Scheduled API Outage' and we were informed in advance, then we try to warn users in advance (by eMail).
And if it was an Unscheduled API Outage, i.e. the API is temporarily broken, the you can check on the API system status via the link at http://bdpsupport.betfair.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=2805 though quite often the first reports of unscheduled downtime appear on the Betfair 'General Betting' Forum - http://site.forum.betfair.com/jive3/index.jspa
Finally, if your account has been permissioned and you can log-in to the Betfair web site, but still can`t use MTPro from the same computer, then it's our problem, and you should contact us at support@chromaweb.com
